Fine Arts

The HPHS Fine Arts Department provides students with opportunities to grow creatively and collaboratively through coursework and performance experiences in art, music, dance, theater, and technical theater.

Through rigorous instruction and hands-on learning, students develop creativity, confidence, communication, and leadership skills while participating in award-winning performances, productions, exhibitions, and competitions.

Courses

Art

Students explore drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, digital design, and advanced portfolio development through hands-on visual arts experiences.

 

 

Music

Students participate in courses such as band, orchestra, choir, music theory, and applied music while developing performance, collaboration, and musical literacy skills through hands-on experiences.

 

 

Dance

Students participate in courses such as dance, Highland Belles, choreography, and performance-based instruction while developing creativity, technique, collaboration, and performance skills through hands-on experiences.

 

 

Theatre & Technical Theatre

Students participate in courses such as theater arts, technical theater, stage production, and performance while developing creativity, communication, collaboration, and storytelling skills through hands-on experiences.

 

Speech & Debate

Students develop skills in public speaking, argumentation, research, critical thinking, and effective communication through participation in speech and debate activities, including persuasive speaking, interpretation, and competitive debate.
