Teacher Profile

Ms. Talkington has been in public education since 2016 and is excited to join the Highlanders team as an art teacher!

Before teaching, she worked in adult education at the Brooklyn Museum, specializing in tours for the visually impaired and individuals with memory loss. Ms. Talkington earned her BA in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from The King’s College in 2007. She began her graduate work at Brooklyn College, earning an MA in Art History in 2013 and moved to sunny Scotland where she earned an MScR in Architecture from the University of Edinburgh’s College of Art. Scotland remains one of her favorite places in the world.

Other than art and art history, her areas of interest include gardening, stand-up comedy, veterinary science, theology, furniture-flipping, astrophysics, hiking with her dog, Lucy, and baking delicious treats for anyone who shares her sweet tooth!
