Dr. Candice Conner
Dr. Candice Conner has extensive experience helping individuals discover their strengths, reach their goals, and achieve balanced mental health. She thrives on seeing those who honor her with their trust as they incorporate new behaviors to obtain more of what they want in life and less of what they do not want. Dr. Conner earned a Master’s of Education in Counseling and Student Services, a Master’s of Science in Clinical Psychology, and a Doctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology, and completed internship and residency at the Fifth Avenue Center for Counseling and Psychotherapy in NYC. Dr. Conner's theoretical orientation centers around Cognitive Behavioral, Psychodynamic, DBT, and Solution Focused therapies. A large portion of her clinical and academic work has been in counseling with adolescents, parents of adolescents, and individual adults. Dr. Conner has served as the Personal Counselor for HPHS for 8 years. In this role she counsels with students in the areas of depressive and anxiety disorders, relationship difficulties, family concerns, grief, substance abuse, school, extra-curriculars, and other life stressors. She facilitates mental health support groups for students and new student groups for those who are new to HPHS. Dr. Conner serves on a number of advisory committees including, but not limited to, the HPISD Parent Education Committee, the Park Cities Mental Health Awareness Task Force, CARE Dallas, and The Elisa Project. She also speaks about beneficial mental health issues to various parent, community, and other groups.
