Parking

Student Parking 

Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores will have the opportunity to purchase parking during BSSU (Back to School Sign-Up). Only students with a current, valid driver’s license are eligible to receive a parking sticker through HPHS. Learner’s Permits are not allowed. Students who do not meet these criteria will not be considered in the parking lottery. Permission to park on the HPHS campus is granted subject to all rules and regulations of the School District. 

  • Seniors- will be placed in a lottery for garage spaces. *Seniors who request oversized parking will be placed in a lottery for street oversized parking. Those who do not receive a street space will automatically receive a General Lot Access sticker. 

  • Juniors- will be placed in a lottery for remaining garage spaces. All others will be issued a General Access Parking sticker. *Juniors who request an oversized space will automatically be issued a General Lot Access sticker.  

  • Sophomores- will be placed in a lottery for remaining General Access Parking spaces. Students who did not receive a space will remain on the waitlist. Once a space comes available, they will be issued a parking sticker. Sophomores are not eligible for garage spaces.  

Parking areas and permissions*: 

Garage- These spaces are assigned to specific staff and students, with their space number visible on the sticker or tag. These are not open spaces. 

Street Parking- These spaces are assigned to specific staff and students with their space number visible on the sticker or tag. These are not open spaces. 

General Lot Access- These are open spaces only available to students who purchased a space from HPHS and were issued a General Lot Access sticker. These spaces include the lots on Hyer street and the spaces along Lovers Lane (north of the baseball field). 

*Only students who have been issued a sticker from HPHS Administration have permission to park in these designated parking areas.  

What to do if someone is in your assigned space: * 

  • Make note of the license plate information 
  • Garage- park in visitor/ volunteer 
  • Oversized- park in the General Access Lot for students 
  • Immediately report the offender’s license plate information through the link HERE
  • You must be logged into your HPISD google account to access the form 
  • *If you do not report the license plate information, YOU will be in violation for parking in a restricted space. 

Requesting an initial parking space: 

Students who need to request a space after BSSU closes, can complete the link below. Please remember that only 12th, 11th, or 10th grade students with a valid driver’s license will be placed on the list for parking. Learner’s Permits are not allowed. 

Click here if you would like to request a space and have not been issued a space for the 26-27 school year. This form will open August 10, 2026. Please do not use this form to request an alternate space.  

You must have the following information to complete this request: 

  • A picture of the front of student's current driver’s license- all edges must be visible 
  • Student Name 
  • Grade Level 
  • ID# 
  • License plate number 
  • Vehicle information: Make, Model, Color and Year 

Requesting a different or alternate space: 

Seniors or Juniors who have been issued a space, but would like to request a different location, should complete the form below. Please note that these requests are only possible if spaces come available. Students will be notified via email if a space opens.

Student Responsibilities: Students are responsible for adhering to the full parking expectations which can be found in the Kiltie. 

The information below is not exhaustive. Information is subject to change; continue to check back for any updates. 

  • Please remember that student parking is a privilege, and not a right. 
  • School Parking is enforced from 6:00 am- 3:35 pm on school days. 
  • Current parking stickers must be displayed on the back window, and visible to Security and Administration (outdated stickers must be removed) 
  • Violations: 
  • Any student parking in any space or area that has not been assigned to them by HPHS administration will be towed at owner’s expense on the second violation. 
  • Continuous parking violations could result in disciplinary action taken by the student’s assistant principal.  
  • Visitor/ volunteer parking is reserved and designated for visitors and volunteers only; it is not for student use. 
  • Handicapped spaces (garage and street) are reserved for those issued a state handicapped sticker/ placard/ license plate. These parking violations are subject for immediate tow at owner's expense. 

Violations of HPHS parking guidelines are subject to disciplinary consequences and could lead to the loss of student parking privileges for the year as well as having the student’s vehicle towed at their expense.
