13 Fine Arts students earn All-State recognition

13 Highland Park High School students were honored with the highest recognition for high school musicians in the state. Four choir students, one member of the Highlander Strings Orchestra and a school-record eight Highlander Band members earned All-State honors from the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA).
The All-State students are:
All-State Mixed Choir:
Gracie Nunneley - Third Chair, Soprano 2
All-State Treble Choir:
Cailin Jordan - Seventh Chair, Soprano 1
Lily Wu - Fourth Chair, Alto 2
Apsaline Douglas - Eighth chair, Alto 2
All-State Tenor-Bass Choir:
Brennan Davis - Fifth Chair, Tenor 2

Sophia Brinkman - flute
Charlie Conner - euphonium
Peter Davies - oboe
Nathan Denman - clarinet
Maisey Martinez - clarinet
Aaron Pathak - bass clarinet
Madison Triplett - bassoon
Elena Wang - flute

Richard Luo - violin

"I am so proud of Richard for placing in the All-State String Orchestra," Director of Orchestras Tara Cesario said. "This is quite an accomplishment for a violinist, as the string competition around the state is very aggressive. He has worked tirelessly and deserves this incredible opportunity. I am honored to have him represent the Highlander String Orchestra at TMEA this year."
These 13 students will attend a four-day, fun-filled TMEA Convention Feb. 14-17 in San Antonio where they will participate in clinics and rehearsals. The Texas All-State Choir and Band will perform in concert for the membership of TMEA and the public on Saturday, Feb. 17 at the Henry B. Gonz
