Enrolling at HPHS
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING NEW STUDENT ENROLLMENTS FOR THE 2020-21 SCHOOL YEAR
Due to COVID-19 and our schools closure, please be advised that no additional new student enrollment document packets for the 2020-21 school year are currently being accepted at this time.
I will be in touch with those families who have completed their student’s online enrollment application to provide an update on our new student enrollment plan around the first week of May. Parents of new incoming students in August*, who have not completed the online enrollment application or turned in their enrollment documents, should go ahead and complete Step #1 shown below. For Step #2, I would advise to print the checklist, complete the top portion and collect and copy all documents on the list then set aside and hold until I contact you in early May with further instructions. Highland Park High School
*These instructions are for students that are not a currently enrolled active student of HPHS. Students currently enrolled at HPHS do not need to complete the enrollment application.
Enrollment at Highland Park High School is a two-step process. Please PRINT the below enrollment checklist prior to beginning the following steps.
Online enrollment applications (Step #1) must be completed and copies of all documents required for enrollment must be turned in (Step #2) before an enrollment appointment can be scheduled.
Complete the online New Student Enrollment Application (via your parent Skyward account).
New Skyward User: If you are new to the district and do not have a Skyward account, Click Here To Begin The New Student Enrollment Process.
Returning Skyward User: If you have a Skyward account and are enrolling a new student (example: you have a student in HPISD, and are enrolling an incoming freshman), Click Here To Begin The New Student Enrollment Process.
*If you have a Skyward account and are enrolling a student who previously attended HPISD schools, withdrew, and is returning to HPISD, you may need to contact the HP school your student will be attending if your Skyward account needs to be reactivated.
Students currently enrolled in HPISD do not need to complete the online enrollment application to move on to a higher grade or new campus. If you have any questions about your student moving from one grade to the next, please contact your child's counselor. This online enrollment application is for students who were not enrolled at HPHS on the last day of school for the 2018-19 school year. This application is NOT for Back to School Sign Up. The BSSU link will be available on the HPISD home page at www.hpisd.org from July 30, 2020 through midnight August 7, 2020.
Print a copy of the Enrollment Checklist, from the link at the top of this page, and fill out the top section of the form. Next, collect all the documents listed and make a copy of each document that the school can keep for your student’s records. The Checklist will be your enrollment packet cover sheet with each of the documents following in the order they appear on the checklist. Only complete packets will be accepted. If there are any documents missing the packet cannot be accepted which will delay the scheduling of your student’s enrollment appointment.
Instructions for turning in enrollment document packets and information on new dates for enrollment meetings with the Counselor, will be forthcoming hopefully prior to May 1.
For those families who will be moving to HPISD over the summer, enrollment appointments
will resume in August, prior to the start of school, with specific dates to be announced.

Enrollments are available by appointment only.
No walk-in appointments can be accommodated.
The first day of school will be Thursday August 20, 2020.
Important Information for the 2020-21 School Year:
If you are interested in your new student being tested for the HPISD Talented and Gifted program, please contact Cynthia Jones at email@example.com after 8/12/20 for a testing packet. Click here for more information about TAG services.
If you need information about Special Education services, please contact Josh Schilling at firstname.lastname@example.org or 214-780-3798. This office is closed June 8, 2020 - August 3, 2020.
*If you are enrolling a new student that receives Special Education Services please be sure to include, with your new student enrollment document packet, a copy of their IEP records, goals/objectives/date of last ARD and any other pertinent SpEd paperwork from the transferring school. Not including or missing SpEd documents could delay the scheduling of your student’s enrollment appointment.

*If you are enrolling a new student that has been receiving 504 Accommodations at their prior school please be sure to include, with your new student enrollment document packet, a copy of their physicians report/testing and letter/statement from the transferring school that shows the accommodations the student received during the 2019-20 school year. Not including or missing 504 Documents could delay the scheduling of your students enrollment appointment.
