Scots win 18th state tennis championship

The Highland Park Scots tennis team defeated Amarillo 10-2 to capture the 2017 5A state championship. It is Highland Park's 18th time to win the state title and 30th consecutive trip to the state tournament.
"I am so proud of all these kids. They truly played and represented their school and community like champions during the past two days," Coach Dan Holden said. "This championship was well-deserved!"
"I am really proud of the athletes and coaches who finished the year 23-0," Highland Park ISD Athletic Director Johnny Ringo said. "They have worked very hard to achieve this goal and have represented Highland Park ISD in a first-class way both on and off the court."
