Congratulations Class of 2018!

The graduates in the Class of 2018, clad in blue and gold graduation regalia, celebrated with family and friends as they received their diplomas from Highland Park High School. Graduation took place June 1 at SMU's Moody Coliseum.  
Our hats go off to valedictorian Karen Chen, salutatorian Slade Sinak, and Blanket Award winners Michael Xie and Abigail Govett. The Blanket Award is given for outstanding leadership and community service.
The event included speeches by Chen and Sinak. Chen will attend Stanford University in the fall and is considering a major in engineering on a pre-medical track.
Sinak is only the second grad in HPHS history to be named a Jefferson Scholar at the University of Virginia. He follows in the footsteps of 2009 HP grad Virginia Hawkins, and he will receive a full-ride undergraduate scholarship as well as various enrichment activities throughout his time at UVA.
