Susan Phillips
About Me:
Hello! My name is Susan Phillips, and I teach two English courses: English II TAG, and English II Standard. I graduated from Highland Park High School in 2000 and attended SMU, where I received degrees in Psychology (BA '04) and English Literature With a Specialization in Creative Writing (MA '06). This year, I return to the district for my 8th year teaching English after spending several years at home with my three young children. During my years at home, I worked part-time as a tutor, writer, and editor. As a stakeholder with three of my own children attending HPISD schools, I have returned to teaching with a new passion for meeting students "where they are" and bringing out their full potential as readers, writers, and analytical thinkers. I can't wait to get to know my students and their families as we work together this year!
