Jack Garner
Greetings! My name is Jack Garner. Before coming to Highland Park High School, I taught at Roosevelt High School in Lubbock, Talkington School for Young Women Leaders in Lubbock, and Wylie East High School in Wylie. This is my tenth year in education. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in History from Texas Tech University and later completed a Master of Arts in History at Arizona State University. During my collegiate studies, I concentrated primarily on American history, with a particular focus on the American Revolution and the Civil War.
Throughout my career, I have taught a variety of courses, including World History and U.S. History, as well as AP U.S. History, AP European History, AP World History, and Dual Credit U.S. History through Collin College. In addition to teaching, I have sponsored and coached several academic programs, including Academic Decathlon and UIL Social Studies, Literary Criticism, and Current Events.
I live in Rockwall with my wife and two children. In my free time, I enjoy watching the Dallas Stars, playing disc golf, reading, and spending time with my family. I am excited for the year ahead and proud to be a Scot!
