Jack Garner
Greetings! My name is Jack Garner. Before coming to Highland Park High School, I taught at Roosevelt High School in Lubbock, Talkington School for Young Women Leaders in Lubbock, and Wylie East High School in Wylie. This is my tenth year in education. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in History from Texas Tech University and later completed a Master of Arts in History at Arizona State University. During my collegiate studies, I concentrated primarily on American history, with a particular focus on the American Revolution and the Civil War.
Throughout my career, I have taught a variety of courses, including World History and U.S. History, as well as AP U.S. History, AP European History, and Dual Credit U.S. History through Collin College. In addition to teaching, I have sponsored and coached several academic programs, including Academic Decathlon and UIL Social Studies, Literary Criticism, and Current Events.
I live in Rockwall with my wife and two children. In my free time, I enjoy watching the Dallas Stars, playing disc golf, reading, and spending time with my family. I am excited for the year ahead and proud to be a Scot!
