StuCo members busy with Project Respect and Red Ribbon Week

The HPHS Student Council began the third year of promoting its district-wide campaign, Project Respect. Each month, Student Council visits with fourth-graders to discuss a different theme, and October's theme was "leadership." Students discussed the qualities of a leader and named leaders they look up to. They also discussed how they can be leaders on their campus by promoting Project Respect and by setting a good example.

StuCo also visited all of the district's elementary schools to promote Red Ribbon Week. StuCo talked to third- and fourth-graders about making good and healthy choices, resisting peer pressure, and being a leader.

Members also promoted Red Ribbon Week at HPHS by having themed dress-up days, making announcements about the dangers of alcohol and drugs, as well as making posters and flyers promoting RRW.
