Sophomores and Juniors
On Wednesday, October 13, 2021 HPHS sophomores and juniors will take the PSAT/NMSQT from 8:10 - 12:15pm. Students must check the lists posted at the student entrance and near the cafeteria beginning Friday October 8th, to determine their testing room for October 13th. Because the PSAT/NMSQT is a timed test, students will not be allowed to enter the testing room after the testing has begun. Please schedule appointments for the afternoon only, as students cannot be released early.
According to College Board regulations, food and drinks are not permitted in the testing room. All personal belongings (bags, backpacks, etc.) including cell phones, smart watches and all other electronic devices will be collected by testing proctors and will be placed in the hallway. Students will need to bring two #2 pencils (no mechanical pencils allowed), a calculator and an ID (school or government issued).
Seniors will report to the auditorium at 9am for a class meeting where attendance will be taken. Students must enter through the front of the building into the auditorium. Prior to an extended lunch, the seniors will move to the Competition Gym for a class picture. When seniors return to campus for their 4th period at 12:25pm enter through the student entrance.
Freshmen should plan to arrive at school by 8am, check the hall rosters for group assignments, and then go directly to the Competition Gym to locate their group leaders for the morning. The students will attend a Community Service Session, learn about Naviance and participate in Tools for High School Success.
Attendance will be taken, and all attendance rules outlined in The Kiltie apply to this official school day. Once the testing is concluded, the school will follow an alternate schedule for the remainder of the day (approximate times listed below). The lunch periods will be abbreviated; therefore, students may want to bring a sack lunch to save time.
