Special Programs

The HPHS Special Education Department exists to promote and encourage student achievement, inclusion, access, high expectations, and an authentic identity among students in order that they understand themselves and positively contribute to the world around them.

We are committed to serving ALL students regardless of their background, disability, or any other individual factors. The Special Education Department is staffed with an excellent and passionate staff trained to serve any student’s individual needs, and we offer a full array of individualized services in order to partner with students and parents set each student on a successful path.

The department directly oversees and/or assists with the administration, coordination and implementation of a variety of school district programs and initiatives.  These HPISD Special Programs include:

• Section 504 Services
• Dyslexia Services
• English as a Second Language (ESL) Services
• Coordinated Health Services
