Mrs. Meghan Coates

Mrs. Coates was a member of the leadership team at Highland Park Middle School from 2020-2024 before joining the team at HPHS in 2024.

Prior to joining the administrative team at HPMS, Mrs. Coates was a Spanish teacher at Longfellow Middle School in Norman, OK and at Highland Park Middle School from 2011-2020.

She attended the University of Oklahoma and earned a B.S. in Foreign Language Education-Spanish degree. Later, she attended Texas A&M-Commerce and was awarded a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction.

Mrs. Coates was the 2018-2019 Teacher of the Year at Highland Park Middle School, HP Arts Advocate of the Year (2022), and chaired the TASSP Assistant Principal Committee in 2022-2023. Mrs. Coates was named the 2023-2024 TASSP Assistant Principal of the Year for Region 10.

In her spare time, Mrs. Coates loves to spend time with her family - husband (Brandon), toddler (Lucy) and two dogs (Pepper and Polly) - plan trips to Disneyworld and NYC, and read.
