John Hinton
Profile
I started teaching at Highland Park HS in 2003, so I am beginning my 23rd year at HP and 27th year in education. For the majority of the time, I have been in the special education department where I have served as an In-Class-Support teacher and a resource teacher. I had the opportunity of teaching senior internship, and I teach a Leadership & Ethics class. I also have the privilege of serving as the Student Council sponsor. I graduated from UT, Austin, with a degree in Kinesiology with aspirations of being a physical therapist. However, my heart and passion has always been about serving as a mentor to students by building positive relationships. I believe very strongly in relational leadership and servant leadership. I try to convey this to all of my students, hopefully preparing them to be the next generation of leaders.
