Michael Molenaar

Profile

I began teaching at Highland Park High School in 2020. After starting my teaching career in the Houston area in 2015, I am honored and excited to have this opportunity to teach World Geography and World History at HPHS. I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2014 with a BA in Political Science. My educational philosophy is conceptually linked to the ideal that I am at my most effective as an educator when I facilitate student to student interactions. I strive to have my students delve into the relevancy of the curriculum as it relates to both their professional and personal lives, for both their present and future. My biggest goal is for my students to be prepared to enter and compete in the global workforce. I also want them to be prepared to be academically successful in college. I live in Dallas, and I enjoy golfing, watching historical fiction movies, and reading science fiction.
