Yvette Hightower
MAPS Environmental Architecture Teacher.
I started teaching at Highland Park High School in 2021 and am honored to be part of the HP community. Architecture is my passion and helping students discover it is my favorite part of my job. I believe in hands-on authentic collaborative learning. As the first environmental architect Frank Lloyd Wright said, "An idea is salvation by imagination."
I am a New Orleans native and earned my Bachelor of Architecture degree from LSU. I worked for Humphreys & Partners Architects in multifamily production for 17+ years, then earned my Masters of Teaching from TWU. I am married to my college sweetheart and have a daughter who graduated from OU in finance and a son majoring in architecture at UT Austin.
My classroom is NW307 and I am available most afternoons for tutorials or extra studio time including 6th & 7th periods.
