Military Academy Application Information
 
The U.S. Military Academy at West Point awards graduates a Bachelor of Science degree and a second lieutenant commission in the U.S. Army, requires a minimum five-year active duty service, and remains a prestigious institution with a rich history and commitment to Duty, Honor, and, Country.
 
The U.S. Naval Academy is the undergraduate college for training future officers in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, where midshipmen receive a four-year education, graduate with bachelor of science degrees, and are commissioned as ensigns or second lieutenants, committing to a minimum of five years of service in the Navy or Marine Corps.
 
The United States Air Force Academy, a public military service academy, is at the forefront of advancing innovation in various domains, including air, space, and cyberspace, and offers a unique experience that combines top-tier education, military training, Division I athletics, and character-building challenges.
 
The United States Merchant Marine Academy is a federal service academy that educates leaders of exceptional character to serve national security, marine transportation, and economic needs as licensed Merchant Marine Officers and commissioned officers, with a rigorous academic program, real-world experience at sea, and a combination of credentials including a Bachelor of Science degree, a U.S. Coast Guard license, and a commission in the U.S. Armed Forces.
 
The United States Coast Guard Academy is a prestigious and selective institution that educates leaders for America through a demanding program focused on physical, intellectual, and ethical transformation, preparing graduates for positions of leadership in the Coast Guard, a unique military service dedicated to life-saving, law enforcement, and homeland security.

 

Students MUST obtain a Congressional nomination from their local Congressperson to apply to a military academy. Students interested in applying to a service academy can learn more and apply HERE.

 

 

The University of Texas at Austin Automatic Admission Policy

Senate Bill 175, passed by the 81st Texas Legislature, allows The University of Texas at Austin to limit automatic admission to 75 percent of the university’s enrollment capacity designated for first-time resident undergraduate students.

 

The University has determined that it will automatically admit all eligible summer/fall 2026 and spring 2027 freshman applicants who rank within the top 5% of their high school graduating classes. A letter from University President Jay C. Hartzell is attached to this correspondence.
